NORMAN JAY MBE:

Norman needs no introduction, known as the Godfather of the rare groove scene. He began his music career in the early eighties following trips to New York during a time when rap and hip hop was first forming. Taking influence from NYC, Norman would then become responsible for introducing the UK to new styles of music including Disco and House.

Norman gained the reputation as an underground deejay attracting several thousand people to (illegal) warehouse raves. Following this, Norman become one of the co-founders of KISS; the original pirate radio station which is now internationally known as Kiss FM.

In 2002 Norman Jay was commended an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his ‘deejaying and services to music’. Additional to the Queen’s royal seal of approval, Norman has been the deejay of choice for many celebrities including Prince, Michael Caine, Vivienne Westwood and David Beckham.

THREADS DJ's:

December 22nd 2012 saw the end of a very special era as Threads waved goodbye to their Saturday night residency at DQ. However, as part of what is going to be a momentous night, we have Clipboard, Fruits, Amy C and the crew back on force bringing their expertise of genre-less party tunes.

THIRSTY EAR DJs:

Next in support are the DJ collective known as Thirsty Ear, who have been hosting monthly parties here at The Harley for the past 5 years. With an incredible knowledge and passion for music they present eclectic nights that join the dots between funk, soul, reggae, hip-hop, beats, bass, party bangers and so on. Quality guaranteed.
