Housing benefit

Recommended Posts

Yep, but there's always a small minority that will take the rent money and spaff it all away.

Word gets around and housing benefit claimants all get a bad name because of one rotten egg.

Trouble is the rotten eggs as you call them get made unemployed as no fault of there doing, ie companies going bust that cant afford wages or honor wages at employees last work shifts.

These employees then have to claim benefits which can takes weeks to process where does these people stand ? are they still the rotten eggs of society.

Yes, all depends on the hours worked, cost of rent, whether or not you have children etc but yes, a lot of working families get housing benefit.

They're unfortunate I'll give them that, but the DWP backdate all benefit paymets to the date at which you made the claim.

Yes it does take a silly amount of time to get your claim in, but the first payment is pretty big so can go toward paying off any debts you've racked up in the meantime.

The rotten eggs would be those who have no interest in working in the first place, and only live to sponge off society and spaff the money away on booze and/or drugs.

Do you really think it's a good idea to give these people more money?

This is a symptom of the smear campaign against benefit claimants that the Tories are on.

There are far more workers claiming benefits than those who sit on their arris all day doing nothing. The government just wants to make claiming benefits a taboo so people are ashamed to do it and thus struggle instead of claiming. That way the money can be recirculated into lining the pockets of the rich.
