Hi

I am looking for any information on my Grandfather and Great Grandfathers that came from Yorkshire.

Great Grandfather was born Arthur John Kenworthy BECKETT about 1856 in Barnsley. On some of the Census he has as an occupation a Scavenger, Tram Line Cleaner and sailor to Jamacia Kingston! He married a Eliza nee Clark and she was born in Hillro Cambridgeshire.(thats all I know about her)

They ended up living in 95 Neepsend Street Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield in 1901 Census, and 1911 were in Birley Street.(thats all I know about Great grandfather)

Grandad was born when they were in Neepsend Street, 1898, Pizarro William Beckett.

He went to WW1 in 1916 with the 9th Yorks and Lancs regiment, No 38996. Fought in the battle of the Messines. Was gassed and ended up in the Labour Corp, till the end, I think as a Guard in Calais.

He married a Theresa Fields in 1919 in Sheffield.

They immigrated to Australia in 1925.:

If anyone has any Info on this family, I would so appreciate it!

I live out in the South Pacific Ocean the other side of Australia, and it is difficult to find things out.:help:

many Thanks for this service.

Linda Chapman (nee BECKETT)

My Granddad was also Pizzaro William Beckett and my Grandmother Theresa. My mother was Betty Beckett, eldest daughter of Bill and Theresa. My name is Valma, 4th child of Betty and Norman Hutchinson. I have not had much contact with relatives on Mum or Dad's side. Only recently have I made contact with cousin Clare (Theresa's sister's child) to find out some family history. I am waiting for a suitable date to meet with Clare, but I hope it is soon. My son in law found your information and I am delighted to rrespond to it. You must be my cousin Linda. I would be happy to correspond with you. Thank you. (Mum's brothers were Kevin, Peter and Phillip and Albert, sisters Margaret and Maureen)

Hi

yes we are cousins. My dad was Peter. he died 6 years ago in Geraldton.

I have a email address and would love to hear from you.

poohandlinda@ninet.nf

If I can help with anything I would be happy too.

I did have a Ancestry.com account and have a Family Tree I started on there.

Have heaps of blanks in things though.

I started to look at the Hutchinsons a bit, and I think the family went back to Adelaide? all with the gold rush?

Anyway, hope you see Clare as I did hear she had done a lot of research.

Love from me your cousin...Linda

We met a long time ago in Kalgoolie, it was the year the earthquake struck, think you were just married to apoliceman...ball???? (I was 16 then).
