Duck survives after crossbow attack

" Those found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal could face a maximum six-month prison sentence and/or a £20,000 fine."

The article mentions the consequences of animal cruelty but nothing about the fact that the guy was out in public shooting a crossbow !

Just seen amazing photos of a duck seen at South Yorkshire park yesterday after being shot with crossbow bolt...

Are you 'Keith', the photographer in this story? If so, great photograph and good of you to bring it to light/the authorities.

No I'm not the photographer.... name similarity is pure coincidence:) but amazing photo. Just wish it was the evil attacker who had the bolt through the neck.

It is unusual for a bolt to lodge as they have immense power penetrating steel sheets, and kevlar waistcoats.

They only have as much power as the crossbow that fires them. There is a huge range of crossbow types, with varying power. Most pistol crossbows are not all that powerful for example, but easily concealed in public.
