truman
I do check every few years and other quotes are not significantly cheaper. . Only every few years? You're an insurance company's ideal customer...
Xt500
I do check every few years and other quotes are not significantly cheaper. But, as (ironically) I said above, I`m more upset about whiplash scroungers, it surprises me so few other people on here seem bothered about these scumbags and the shyster lawyers who facilitate them. You really need to make time and have a look at how much insurance companies profits are soaring rather than spouting your media hype.
alchresearch
I've been with Swiftcover since they first started but probably won't be this year. They've been consistently cheaper than everyone else. But renewal is £200 more than last year. I did the usual comparison sites and the first half dozen are all £200 cheaper than Swiftcover (i.e. same as last year) I wondered if it was because I had a female named driver on. Removing them from the comparison quotes brought the price down another £80-£100. Yet on Swiftcover it ballooned to £700.
Justin Smith
I`ve only just read this, "Government to clamp down on whiplash fraudsters", good news indeed. Rather predictably the shyster lawyers are all bleating about it, how sad, not.......
Ashcroft
i think my insurance has gone up more this renewal because m&s insurance have a maximum of 9 years ncd, i had 13 when i went with them last year, but now i can only prove i have 9. to me thats an insurance scam. alchresearch
I went with the broker Adrian Flux, who were even cheaper than the comparison sites.
El Cid
I went with the broker Adrian Flux, who were even cheaper than the comparison sites. I may be concidering getting a car this year. I have been without for 4 years. So my IN10 may have lapsed, but so too will my no claims bonus. Does a face to face broker (do they still exist) understand the situation better than online quotes? Justin Smith
This is interesting. I`ve just had my insurance renewal and it went up like you`ve never known, though to be fair it is now for a petrol Ford Focus as opposed to a diesel Ford Escort. Even so, I nearly fainted when I read it..... What`s interesting is I made an attempt to get an alternative quote and NFU Mutual (who are pretty cheap) declined to quote for my postcode ! Is it because the whiplash fraudster mentioned earlier lives round here ! ! My theory is that, just like Bradford, car insurance goes through the roof, or is even unobtainable for some people, due to these scrounging fraudsters. scottf
I switched from a 2 seater, 3.5litre 350bhp sports car to a 5 seater honda civic last year and my insurance company (presumably because i had just taken out the policy with them) told me that it would cost £75 MORE to insure the civic because "there is more of them on the roads so they are more desirable, so that makes it more likely that it will be stolen" I certainly know which car i would choose and it wouldn't be the Honda Civic that's for sure. There's no way to put certain factors in the pre-defined fields of a web page.
