janie48
Is it such a surprise that people who have been difficult,anti-social or disrespectful of the law will have a change of character when they are elderly, and if the behaviour is out of character who knows the circumstances that led up to it. *Belle*
The usual initial advice given for such cases, is to keep a diary of events for any future action on the matter. I would be inclined to advise all the affected residents to do the same.
francypants
Sounds to me like this poor old guy has lost his marbles and is lonely and confused. It very often comes out as anger. It's not fair on all the other residents as it can make their life a living hell. As for the son, well he sounds as if he's too embarrassed to acknowledge that his father is senile and he's too up his own backside and wrapped up in his own lifestyle to bother about his father. Probably thinks it's beneath him to have to. What a horrible person to have as a son. You say that the police were involved over the latest snow issue so hopefully something will happen soon to help you all. Good luck !!
Olive
If the police think this is more of a health issue than a criminal one, do they automatically link up with social services or the NHS? We're always hearing about multi-agency approaches, and this sounds like it would be a prime candidate for one. It's nice that you as neighbours do seem to be concerned (if very frustrated) about this gent, but is it up to you to know exactly what chanels should be gone down? You have contacted the authorities, do they not now take matters in hand? Anyone had experience in this?
Harleyman
I've heard that some old folks fart loudly in public. It could be construed as anti-social but I think they just cant help it
erebus
Just tape record, video record, and collect the overwhelming evidence, make a DVD, send a copy to the stuck up son, who legally plays with the police like a cat with mice, and give the boys in Blue a copy too. Everything requires evidence, otherwise it is hearsay, which is legally nonsense, and dismissed out of hand, by a poorly qualified solicitor never mind a barrister, who also plays games with the police. Too clever by half in a coppers opinion. Stick choice bits on the web, tell the son his dad is being naughty boy again, humiliation is a tool, and public humiliation could make his profitable business slacken for a time. Money screams to legal eagles, and colleagues making jokes are like being given a good kicking to such a social animal.
