I want to see them though. It's just not on.

I'm sending Pete a email.

Offer to pick em up in the motor Ramps, take em right to the arena and carry one of their cymbals or summat inside for them. be sure to park proper though, full of those handing out worthless parking tickets down there.

70 quids nothing...

200 quid to see J Bieber and stop infecting music with his filth

Corrected it for you, and it's totally worth it.

At least he isn't one of these pop singers talking about s&m and sex and people's personal members that everyone seems happy enough to let their kids listen to but because Justin bieber looks a bit like a girl everyone jumps on his back I know which "pop stars" I'm more concerned about.......... :hihi:

Sod that £70 lark! The Specials £35,Jake Bugg £12 and Villagers £12 and still enough left from the £70 to see Veronica Falls :)

I would tolerate The Specials for 10 notes. Early stuff amazing. I think other forum users would agree with me on the rest - never heard of them! :(

They should! All that money Pete Townsend earns from that prog on the telly and he wants more! I thought he was a socialist?

Limousine Liberals love to pontificate and lecture about the poor downtrodden masses but their snouts are in the trough just as much as the establishment that they purport to despise.

I was interested to see that Richard Hawley is charging £20 for his latest tour, like him or not you have to admire him for making his concerts affordable for his fans.

Not a defence per se, but it isn't that simple. The Who don't pick the price of their tickets. It's all organised and arranged by management and promotions people.

The arena has large overheads, so they need their cut; and the venue staff need their cut; and the crew/sound/light people need their cut; and the sound/light equipment needs to be paid for, which can be expensive if you're getting the best people and best equipment; and then it costs money to tour; and then the promotions company want their cut, and management take their percentage, and then, finally, the band take their earnings. Then there is tax to be paid. If the tour is popular and successful then there is certainly money to be made, but it isn't as simple as base greed.

On a similar but seperate note - why criticise them for their entrepreneurial spirit? They're selling a product in the market place and lots of people are willing to pay, thus they're deserving of any money they make. Is that not correct?
