Lotusflower
Mark Hoban is Minister for Work and Pensions. Talking about some benefits claimants recently he said that changes would be, "A rude awakening to those who play the system." He went on to say,"Unemployed people have taken benefits for granted as a way of life and must roll up their sleeves and stop playing the system." How are we supposed to understand his words in the context of his own conduct in Parliament with taxpayer's cash and his expenses claims? £1,600 for a table, 6 chairs and chest and a bookshelf. £1,997 for a wardrobe and "something else unclear." £358 for kitchen bits and bobs. £650 for decorating. £320 for food and cleaning. He also claims the full food allowance of £400 per month. Am I the only one to think that maybe the Minister is having a giraffe? quisquose
His company made £600 million in profits and paid 2% tax. I thought I would check this out, but can not find such a company. Do you mean the company he used to work for?

He worked for PWC...but I don't think he was responsible for their tax affairs..he left on 2001 anyway...

Thankyou for pointing that out. I have removed that particular reference. I have to hold my hand up and say that I didn't check it before I posted it. Mr Bloom
It's times like this when I am most grateful for that Mr Cameron, reminding us that, 'we are all in this together'. What an utter disgrace.

Ironically there is no mention of a bed on that kist. When you next write a letter of congratulation to the man perhaps you could suggest he claims for that goose feather mattress and the two hot water bottles? As if tory boys get where they are through hard work.
