Socialist Workers Party crisis rolls on

Recommended Posts

For a party who champion Women's Rights - it seems very strange why they handled a rape accusation in-house.....perhaps its because of who was accused and who was the victim? Everyone is equal but some seem more equal than others....and it seems its not the first time this has happened either..which is doubly puzzling...

I share your puzzlement, and I feel that I must be missing some key point.

Why did the victim report it to her comrades instead of the police?

So is the UAF run on the same lines as the SWP and will it go the same way.

Doesn't Martin Smith still hold a senior position in the UAF? The SWP were instrumental in forming the UAF.

She was put under a lot of pressure not to go to the police. It's all about control.

UAF and the SWP only seem interested in racism and sexism etc when its white people doing it, they seem ignorant or just plain not bothered about whats going on between the various minority communities, or the "Muslim patrols" that came to light recently where gangs of Muslim men were going round harrasing women telling them to cover up and so on. There is a blanket silence from the collective far left on this.
