MaryG
Hello, can someone advise me? We have got a gas cooker/oven and the ignitor in the oven won't work (it does on the cooker though, using the same switch). The gas comes flowing out, the ignitor clicks, but there is no flame to set the gas alight. Also, our hob is not working, can someone recommend a reliable electrician to have a look? Many thanks! I had one replaced on a gas cooker. If it works in the oven it is probably OK as they all spark from the same box, so it is likely to be a bad connection or a duff spark plug. It is likely to be fitted underneath the hob if you can get access.
Plain Talker
Is the ignition worked from a battery, or is it wired into the mains? If it's battery, it could be something as simple as the battery needs replacing.
