Bikertec
I have been told there was a village the opposite side of Howbrook dam at High green. I have found information about a pit at High green but not a village. Only thing I can remember as a lad was the large slag heap was it there. smary
There are several houses in Howbrook itself - I imagine once farm cottages but now all renovated. Of course, High Green is a village with hundreds of houses.
Dave_Simmo
Westwood Dam had houses at the far side many moons ago .. It also used have a slagheap on the far bank so it sounds like it may be the one you are thinking of ?
