What are the full specs of your computer ?

When you say "full specs" what do you need exactly?

You have to appreciate that what I know about computers you could fit on the back of a very small stamp!

I'll have a look tomorrow once you let me know what you need.

As an aside, I have to say that I aint a fan of Windows 8. Not as easy as previous editions to find things.

Have you checked performance in the task manager (Not sure if you have this on Win8) but worth checking if your memory and processor are under extreme loads, it might be that your pc isn't capable of running win8?

Also, again, not sure of win8 but if relevant...open run command and type 'msconfig', go through your startup processes and untick anything you don't need, do the same with service (Tick hide all microsoft services first). This will stop a lot of background services from running, but will require a restart.

Again, somebody will be along shortly to tell me that windows 8 doesn't have this feature...

To get to msconfig on win8...

Go to the tiled start screen,

without clicking on any of the icons just type msconfig

a new screen will open,

click on the system configuration box,

the desktop will open and it will display the msconfig window.

To run task manager on windows 8

Open the desktop screen

right click on an empty space on the taskbar

left click on task manager in the menu.

Processor (CPU) specifications, name type and speed.

Memory, type and size.

Don't ask me how to find that out, my knowledge of Windows 8 is zero.

Could be the pagefile - useful article here;

http://superuser.com/questions/145955/how-to-diagnose-very-slow-pagefile

It happens to me now and again - mainly when I'm using Firefox and loading a website with lots of pictures.

I tend to use chrome as my main browser now.

I'm surprised at that article as you don't even need a page file these days. I'm using chrome and have no page file or problems.
