Do you remember the reaction to Nick Clegg when he called those opposed to gay marriage bigots?

He was photographed entering a church to attend mass with his wife,a reporter called him an atheist hypocrite.Sometimes your remarks can backfire on you if you are not careful.

You're still having trouble with the OP........

Is it any of your damned business if two people you don't know want to get married?

That wasnt the OP. It seems even you have a problem remebering the original post.

Are you a youngster by any chance?

Marriage as a concept is the joining of a man and a woman in holy matrimony. It's that simple and I dont know why there is a discussion about it

Like a cheese omelette is the joining of plain omelette and cheese. You cant make a cheese omelette with either just plain omelette or just cheese. You can however have the two together on a plate to get a very similar taste but it isnt a cheese omelette.

Only sensible post here.

Its not about discrimination, its about definition.

Active members within the church who are supporting gay marriage will no doubt seek to pursuade those opposed to change their views, but they if they have any sense they will attempt to do that by adapting an approach of understanding and listening to their reasons, and those opposed should do the same.

Lecturing those opposed and calling them bigots and hypocrites and people with no compassion or tolerance isn't the right way to go about doing that, and that applies to society in general not just the church.

OK. But at what point do you stop agreeing with their point of view and point out that their opinions are homophobic, offensive, and belong in the past?

You can't listen to reasons that don't exist and you can't understand the inexplicable. Otherwise, great strategy!
