gunner1980
My engine management light came on this morning when I started up my 55 plate Bora, along with this my glow plug light is flashing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be or had this prob before? I've done a quick search on google and that brings up that it could be the brake light switch but I've tested that and all my lights work fine. Cheers! ronthenekred
Had the same prob twice (passat) cleared the problem 1st time by replacing what seemed like good bulbs, 2nd time I disconnected the battery for 5 mins and reconnected. Be wary of radio codes though. It could actually be your glow plug/s though.
geared
Best get the fault codes read by a garage to be sure. Not even worth speculating about the cause when you can plug into the car and it will tell you what is the problem.

speleo1
you may have a faulty glow plug on its way out
gunner1980
Took it to garage and the only fault that came up was the engine speed. Reset it anyway so we'll see if it returns!
alchresearch
I'd get it checked again, by a VW specialist reader as opposed to a generic code reader.
