Topspace Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 My wife had a 54 plate Cooper several years ago, it was a great little car to drive but we did have a few problems with it. The first thing you need to check is whether it has had the power steering sorted, as the early models suffered from a fault which caused the power steering to keep failing. BMW are aware of the fault and they offered to do the work at half the usual cost. We shopped around and ended up getting the fault sorted by an independent garage for £450 which was less than half the price quoted by BMW!
