Powerage Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 There definately used to be two Macaws as I remember from the late 60's to 70's spent a lot of time in there as a kid, never liked the bear pit though always thought it had a depressing feeling, which is what the bears must have felt living in there I am sure. poppypoppy Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 I remember going into Botanical Gardens as a child too and when I had my own children in the early 80s they went in with us....remember the birds and the fish and the bear pit...does anyone remember the Peter Pan Garden in there also?...we spent many happy hours and have many lovely memories of Botanical gardens.....we used to live close by and just walked up Brocco Bank or sometimes we would go off Ecclesall Road and in that way....spent many happy times in Endcliffe Park as well...walking through to Forge Dam and then back down to Endcliffe....oh happy days....
