buddysbuddy Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 I heard on the news this morning that "il papa benny" will today make " one of his last appearances". on the bbc news website this is shown as " one of his final appearances". now I may not be well educated [ left school at 15 and went straight into work -- no certificates. BUT how many last or final appearances can he make. maybe I have got it wrong but I always understood that if someone did something for the last or final time then that was the end of it! or have these words undergone a change in meaning that I have missed? medusa Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 He's already done his final general papal mass (according to something I read) and now he'll do his final one of all of the other things that he does, so in terms of it being final appearances, I'm sure that most of the things he does on a monthly/fortnightly basis, he's now doing his last ones.
