Animal DNA found in 'vegetarian' food? Would that be a bigger scandal?

It does, to be fair.

 

Far-fetched though.

 

He's saying that, for instance, if a vegetarian foodstuff is made from something an animal may have nibbled on, or nearby I guess, there may subsequently be some of that animal's dna in the foodstuff.

 

'Cos of its drool, like.

 

I suppose that could be one translation... :)
