Mr Bloom
So, the ConDems want to put an extra 20% tax on fizzy drinks. Another tax on the poor. Will this also bite them in the arse like the pasty and caravan tax? I wonder if they'll put an extra 20% on one of their regular drinks, after all champagne is fizzy, isnt' it? Better still, why don't they tax the multi million pound fizzy drinks industry, as they can afford it, instead of taxing customers?

Bonzo77
Typical government move.......Let's look for the get rich quick option & tax people out of the market. They never think to look at the bigger picture. Same with cigarettes. I think the marketing campaigns are really effective and I think they are working! I think the marketing campaigns alone would eventually faze out smoking, given time. But the government see the green light and pile as much tax on them as they can possibly get away with. They are doing the same with alcohol, now with fizzy drinks......what next??

whiteowl
Another pasty tax imo - Instead of making things that are bad for you more expensive, why don't they make things that are good cheaper ?
