Will the ConDems be putting an extra 20% tax on champagne?

Recommended Posts

I was under the impression it was the BMA -not the Gvt- who wanted that extra 20%?

Are all the news articles wrong about the source, then?

it might be the way that the nhs needs to make up its shortfall because of gov cuts :hihi:

Oh look age old attack the rich. So many armchair socialists see this as an attack on the poor.

Are the rich all fat, costing the country billions of pounds a year in NHS costs and dying young? Nope, that would be what are being called the poor, but the only aspect of them that is poor is their judgement and knowledge of healthy living.

maybe they should put up benefits for these people to be able to afford healty living ? just think of the money they could save in supporting the nhs :hihi:

Repeatedly, yes, and it was similarly covered in the press, like this "story".

Have you seen anywhere in the media that the government are considering it? It's not something I'd expect, like with the case of the minimum unit alcohol pricing requests by Tesco in the early stages.

You said that if the condems weren't considering it it wouldn't be big news.

So how do you know they are considering it, you appear to have reached the conclusion without any evidence other than how big the story is.
