F O S
Friends of Shirtcliffe Workday - Sat 23rd Feb 1pm to 3pm Due to the snow and everyone wanting to go sledging instead we had to cancel our workday in January, we've now re-scheduled our workday for Sat 23rd Feb. With help of the Ranger Service we’ll be working in the plantation to the Northern Edge of Shirtcliffe Valley, thinning out diseased trees & general lopping / chopping. This could be a labour-intensive task so we need as many volunteers as possible. Offcuts will be used to construct a dry hedge to deter off road motor bikers. Meet at 1pm Schubert Bridge Entrance to the woods, Beaver Hill Road (below and opposite the SY Fire Brigade Training Centre). Grid ref: SK 41993 85303. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear such as wellies, boots or old shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. So if you enjoy the pleasure of being outside, practical and hands on why not come along and join us, you’ll be more than welcome. You don't need to be fit or have any experience to take part, you can work at your own pace all equipment and protective gloves are provided.
