badayuni92
I am 30 years old and have over 7 years experience working in various call centres doing a variety of roles inbound sales, customer relations, customer service, credit services etc. I have just finished serving a prison sentence for drugs offences and am now finding it impossible to secure a job not necessarily because of my criminal record but because of the gap on my CV where i have been in prison. Does anyone know of any organisations that are friendly towards people in my circumstances. Or maybe you have been through this experience? Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

WeX
Fill in the gap with something, anything. Your experience is not un-typical for anyone looking for a job, especially one in the industry you have previously worked. Try casting your net a little wider, take in other cities around you. Anna B
I'd think about doing voluntary work, and using your experiences of drugs and what it can lead to to your advantage. Maybe this could lead to working in the social sector, counselling, talking to kids in school about prison, that sort of thing. I wish you all the very best of luck. Thanks If It's spent, and the job doesn't require enhanced disclosure then It's nothing to do with an employer. Put travelling for the gap, or anything. It's harming your chances as people are judfemental. Good luck.

Anna B
Lying on a cv can lead to sacking -Unfortunately not lying means no job. Anything detrimental on a CV and they don't bother to read any further.
