shand1
With Combi boilers, are they worth the trouble? We've had one installed, 3 months ago, ok to start with but the pressure has dropped twice in 4 days... Looking at all the posts regarding this problem is it worth the upheaval of having one installed... We had a back boiler and gas fire removed due to age, but in the 14 yrs we've lived here we never had a problem, and it was warmer too! The temperature drops and stays cold for ages so we have to turn it up to get it to come back on again. Not very energy saving there folks... My combi had a faulty pressure relief valve, causing pressure to drop.. There should be a pipe from the boiler that goes outside(the house)if there is water dripping from it, the valve is probably faulty!
sedith
Combi boilers can be troublesome from my personal experience, but when its out of guarantee just get the British Gas 3 star cover, then when it goes wrong they fix it.
Mrs Overall
Thanks folks, we've discovered a leak on a valve on the boiler, puddle of water in the loft.. The company that installed it have said our old back boiler wasn't as high pressure as this combi boiler.. I don't know anything about it, so they could be telling me anything.. It's gone off today again btw...
