I'm sure you enjoy the higher level philosophical discussions of millionaire footballers kicking a ball boy.

However, if you find this trivial - feel to free to ignore it. :)

Are claiming that Page 3 creates jobs?

Or that banning it will force the newspapers to shut?

no the sun creates jobs...thousands of them..let it continue...loads actually buy it...

Of course when the News of the World closed down 18 months ago we were invited to feel sorry for the muck rakers who were to be made unemployed.

Why should we have sympathy for them? They often showed no pity towards the unemployed in Britain. More to the point, the News of the World stated often enough that living on the social was a life of Riley.

On the substantive point of the thread, I find it grossly hypocritical that the Sun has young women showing their tits on page 3, yet will moralise and froth about the 'sexualisation' of youngsters; condemn what it calls a 'Big Brother' society, yet will use Big Brother tactics to get their 'stories'.

I particularly like Jo Brand's joke about splashing out on The Sun, especially when she's got a heavy period - it's all the Sun is worth in my opinion.

A newspaper being hypocritical? A journalist being passive-aggressively sanctimonious? Surely not...

Aye alright Einstein, how come so many of our 'socialist' posters like yourself, are so keen to put down and generalise about those who they believe are not as academically astute.

Poorly educated, based on their choice of newspaper ? Really ?

What makes people like you such an authority ?

I work in a large Sheffield factory, plenty of Sun readers there, they don't buy it for page 3, they buy it because it's a light read on a short break, just like the Mirror, The Star etc ..... like I have said before, those who read the Telegraph, The Guardian etc must have long lunch breaks or too much time on their hands !

Well said mate, the moral 'badge of honour' wearers on here drive you mad.

Has anyone else noticed the campaign is only targeting the Sun newspaper. The Daily Star has page three in it as well. Now I'm not Rupert Murdochs biggest fan but I do think he is on this occasion been unfairly targeted by the left.

But you didn't notice that the Sun and other papers in the Mudoch stable have always targetted the left for criticism?

Anyway the Sun newspaper can certainly give it out; when Clare Short dared to try have page 3 banned in the 80s the Sun described her as "too ugly to rape" with hair "you could fry chips in".

Disgusting.

Generally the mindless Sun reader would agree. It has a flair for tapping in to it's core readership.

You come across as a 12 year little boy... are you? :D

No, I'm 42:huh:

Keep watching clarissa and you'll see exactly how juvenile he can be. He's what's known as a serial troll - repeatedly banned for being offensive and tiresome, always pops up again with a new username. Must be getting close to his hundredth by now I should imagine. It's probably best to ignore him completely.
