Pixie824
If somebody wishes to look at topless women, buy a specialist magazine for pictures of topless women. If someone wishes to read the news, buy a newspaper. There's news in the sun??? And here's me just thinking it was mindless rubbish...
Chris_Sleeps
There's news in the sun??? And here's me just thinking it was mindless rubbish... You do make a point, but there is news in The Sun. It's not a dedicated publication on the benefits of having nipples on a sunny day.
cressida
Some of the women have children and I used to wonder if they got bullied at school, I wouldn't have thought it worth the risk I would have thought men would have got tired of seeing the same old boobs week after week, perhaps it's now a game of which are real and which are pneumatic! Waldo
Yes! As well as pages 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9... You get the idea!
flamingjimmy
Boycott the sun, by all means. But ban it? No.
geared
If they got rid of it then why would anyone ever buy it? Seriously tho, you can't ban a little nudity in a paper - this is England not Saudi Arabia.
Gazza58
I think page three is proberly the least offensive page sometimes.
RootsBooster
No it isn't. Full Monty is a film, with a narrative. Page 3 is just a picture of a topless woman which is, randomly, in a newspaper. They are both very different things. If somebody wishes to look at topless women, buy a specialist magazine for pictures of topless women. If someone wishes to read the news, buy a newspaper. Bwaaaahahahahahahhah! :hihi:
Jim Hardie
No. What would they print Page 4 on?
Halibut
I think the objectivisation of women as sex objects runs much deeper and further than page 3 of the Sun. Page 3 is the symptom, not the cause. On what grounds could you ban page 3, yet leave the world of advertising and marketing untouched I wonder? ^^^What he says. While sex is used to sell records and people (male and female) are judged on appearance rather than ability, removing one page of a newspaper would be a pretty futile gesture. Agree with both of the above.
