PeteMorris
Does anyone know of a consultant psychiatrist who specialises in geriatric medicine (dementia), or where one might find one who would be prepared to review some medical records (GP / Hospital / Care provider) and give an opinion as to whether or not the persons notes indicated they were suffering from dementia? (the person is now deceased) It's a long story, so I won't go into detail. Note this isn't a 'job' offer, so please don't report as being in the wrong section! It's difficult to diagnose conclusively believe it or not and is often done at a memory clinic, where the symptons where possible are treated. Without sounding too ghoulish, the only 100% way it can be confirmed is via an autopsy.

Plus it would only indicate that it was the condition upon death. Mind you, a lot depends on the progressiveness of the illness, cos it doesn't come on, overnight, I know that much!
