alchresearch
Not cliffs, but Formby beach is surrounded by high dunes. http://s0.geograph.org.uk/photos/32/77/327762_372123d6.jpg Only 80 miles, as opposed to Staithes's

Had a nice Sunday lunch in the Lobster Pot, Staithes, a while ago. Going to the Ship at Saltburn this Sunday whilst in Redcar for the weekend. Picknets in Redcar for crabs, O'Grady's for a pint and you'll have to visit the 'Pier' which looks more like a ships funnel or a helterskelter. The front is coming on though but the poor penguins are covered in bubble wrap:(
Strix
Anybody visiting any beach should consult the tide times Make sure you don't become trapped or stranded. Remember the tide can rush in quite quickly on a flat beach If you arrive with the tide high, the beach between derby pool and leasowe castle is surrounded. Its high tide doesn't usually make it to the encircling rocks either
