Prestige on the world stage "Ooh look at us, we're big boys because we've got a missile that could wipe out entire cities". Poor old Saddam Hussein made people believe he had horrendous weapons; it didn't do him any good. Nukes, airpower and navies let you conquer ground; infantry hold it.
