O2 been bought out by Sky

Recommended Posts

Can any one clear up some-thing that I'm a bit concern about....

Heard that Sky is buying out O2's broadband and home phone...

I am with O2 and there have not informed me yet by letter of this charge, and as I have not given O2 my permmision to past any of my details on to Sky (Name, Address, Bank Detail's as I paid O2 vai a direct debit, ect).

Is O2 in breach of the Data Protection Act

If Sky now own o2s broadband network, they will also own the customer accounts that go with the business they have purchased, or so I would assume.

"The deal is due to complete by the end of April, subject to regulatory approval"

I would imagine O2 customers will be informed once the buy-out has been given approval, and I find it highly unlikely either company will breach data protection, they`ve been around a few years........

You can read O2`s Ts&Cs here if you really want to........

Yep they bought the lot, customers, hardware, everything.

both will be rebranded as Sky.

O2 will remain as a mobile operator, it will be unchanged and still owned by Telefonica.
