polka-dot
Aka sodium borate, sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate? I want to make slime (eg. http://www.sciencebob.com/experiments/polymer.php) I've been looking around but none of the modern cleaning products seem to have it in anymore. Someone suggested finding an ancient hardware store still clinging on to cleaning products of yester-year. Know ye of such a place or borax containing product? Hi You will probably get some at the welding place at Newall road as it's used as a flux for Brazing/hard soldering.. I had a tin somewhere, I think I took it to work when I had a homework job to do (probably ended up in t'skip ) Trueflame welding supplies Biggsy
WeX
Flux is made of borax with some ammonium chloride so it may not be compatible to the chemistry of the slim you are wanting to create.

Draggletail
Fair chance you'll get it at Unit 6 Hardware Shop at Woodseats. It's somewhere between the Holmhirst Rd and Woodseats Rd junctions, on the left if you're heading towards town.
polka-dot
Thanking ye all for the suggestions - it does have to be safe enough to handle in its mixed with glue form, so i'll have a look at the hardware store in Woodseats first, then i'll try ebay. ..then I'll report back so everyone can buy birax and make slime
metalman
If that chemical company in the link can send it through the Royal Mail, it'll be safe enough.
