Penny Quirk
Hi, I wonder if any Sheffielders would like to help arrange a different type of evening out. Moonhound Theatre is a traditional story telling theatre from Denmark and they have a tour of England coming up with a few nights in Sheffield. Two are Yorkshire born and bred, one is from Minnesota and one from Bolivia I think. They met at the world renowned Commedia school in Copenhagen and have built up a very small but succesful theatre group. ] They are here at the end of May. They are also happy to do teaching work and perform in schools or for businesses workshops. If you haven't seen story telling theatre in action before you are in for a treat but, does anyone know of a pub, venue, theatre, anything they can use for free (the venue would make profit on drinks, ticket sales etc). http://moonhoundtheatre.wordpress.com/ Their facebook page is below https://www.facebook.com/moonhoundtheatre?ref=ts&fref=ts If you want to find out more or want to help, please can you get in touch? jake
Upstairs at the Shakespeare or Riverside may be worth looking into - not sure about costs - you'd have to persuade the landlords they had a thirsty audience!
Penny Quirk
Thank you Jake, I will find out more about these. I forgot to say, their performances are going to be in English, not Danish
bungleboy69
Why not try the Greystones pub on Greystones Road, S11.
