Urgent heating advice needed

Recommended Posts

My daughter has a combi boiler, upstairs he has a large tank with a little tank on top of it (obviously not a cylinder as i know it).

The small tank on top has decided to leak through several perforations and flood through the ceiling.

Any advice what to do ,can it be repaired or replaced?

There are a few heating engineers who have contributed in the boiler and heating megathread

I would recommend contacting one of the gas safe registered engineers for advice.

On my own recommendation, I have employed both Corgigasman, and JBradleybz, who are both Gas safe registered, to deal with my recent gas installation and heating problems, and I have been very pleased with their work.

If a tank is perforated it has perished-it does not sound like a combi but sounds like a F&E tank.

Well unfortunately it is a combi - the tank however does sound like an F&E , but i believe its an expansion vessel as part of a sealed/closed sysyem.

Yes some expansion vessels are fitted in line where an internal vessel is inadequate. The external vessels can be replaced quite simply and there is no need to use a gas trained fitter as it does not involve the combustion process.

Many thanks - a forum expert is responding to the job this evening.
