F O S Posted March 14, 2013 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Friends of Shirtcliffe Volunteer Workday Sat 16th March 10am to 12noon (session one) and 1pm to 3pm (session two) Your welcome to attend one or both sessions With help of the Ranger Service we shall be continuing working in the plantation to the Northern Edge of Shirtcliffe Valley, thinning out diseased trees, general lopping / chopping and constructing a dry hedge. This could be quite labour-intensive so we need as many volunteers as possible. Meet at 10am or 1pm Schubert Bridge Entrance to the woods, Beaver Hill Road (below and opposite the SY Fire Brigade Training Centre). Grid ref: SK 41993 85303. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear such as wellies, boots or old shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Remember to bring a packed lunch and drink if you wish to attend the full day session. So if you enjoy the pleasure of being outside, practical and hands on why not come along and join us, you’ll be more than welcome. You don't need to be fit or have any experience to take part, you can work at your own pace all equipment and protective gloves are provided.
