Paedophilia is a illness

Recommended Posts

He's confused. If an illness causes somebody to commit criminal acts then the acts they commit are still criminal acts despite the illness.

It's like saying that murder is not a crime if it committed by a psychopath.

The real debate is where they serve their time. If they have a treatable condition there are places for that. If they are criminally insane there are places for that too. If they can't be treated at the very least they need to be in a prison so they are not a danger to the public. But none of this detracts from the criminal act.

There'll be quite a few nonces queuing up at the doctors surgery in the very near future then

Could you use language more common to those that haven't been in prison please..it saves the law abiding among us from googling every 5 chuffin minutes.

"Usage in English prisons

Nonce first came into widespread use in UK prisons, where it is primarily used by prisoners to refer to convicted sex offenders, especially abusers of children. "Nonces" are traditionally targets of physical abuse from their prison inmates, and so usually go on Rule 45 (formerly Rule 43),[4] the rule that enables the segregation of vulnerable prisoners from the other prisoners for their own safety. The Rule 45 section of British prisons in which sex offenders are segregated (also known as going on 'The Numbers' or, in rhyming slang, 'The Cucumbers') is often referred to as the "nonce wing".[5][6]".

I agree, and here's the definition of chuffin.

It's hardly an illness but they don't just come out of no-where - many paedo's have been sexually abused themselves as children.

That hardly excuses it at all because they still have a choice on how to deal with those feelings - seek help of fall victim to them - but the whole 'omg they are scum let's string them up by their ball-sacks!!!11' is hardly helpful.

It must be an illness, no normal person would act like that, but with an illness that has those sort of horrific symptoms there will be a lot of people who will never look at it as anything other than a crime.

If they act on their urges and involve other people it is clearly a crime. It is against the law to do it. There are no mitigating circumstances regarding the crime itself, only regarding what the punishment should be.

Maybe you are correct, you only have to look at the gangs of kleptomaniacs that keep getting arrested.

Its time a cure was developed for this "illness" or depravity?

Though it would seem that these paedophiles don't seem to want to seek professional help, they don't seem think they have a problem and consider what they do to be normal.

I've just been reading a case in the daily mail about a primary school teacher (too awful to provide a link)

These people are so sly, devious and deceptive they permeate all sections of society deceiving people under a false guise of respectability. They infiltrate religious institutions, schools, charity organisations etc.

As if its not bad enough that their innocent victims are damaged for life ( the ones who have to suffer the most) they also tarnish the most respectable establishments and the blameless who are associated with those institutions.
