Delve Deeper with Jimpster (Freerange), Tomson plus more....

June the 1st will see us once again return to one of Sheffield’s most consistent and historically rich venues for electronic music, The Fez.

To say we are pleased about the DJ’s we have secured for this event is a huge understatement. Anyone who knows about Delve Deeper will know we have been pushing deep house music in Sheffield for close to 6 years. In that time, one name has stood at the forefront of Deep House Globally and we are privileged to be playing a host night on his official album launch tour. We proudly present,

Jimpster

[Freerange Records / Porchlight & Rockingchairs album launch tour]

Jamie Odell aka Jimpster and Franc Spangler has been producing, remixing and DJing for the last 20 years for the last 16 of those co-running esteemed UK deep house label Freerange Records (voted Best British Label 2007 in DJ Mag). More recently he set up Delusions Of Grandeur as an outlet for more underground and raw tracks introducing and helping to establish artists such as 6th Borough Project, Tornado Wallace and Session Victim. His musical upbringing and very early introduction to production (his first release was on influential UK label Jumpin’ & Pumpin’ in 1990 alongside label mates Future Sound Of London) have helped him forge a sound that is warm, deep but also, innovative and club friendly, a style which is naturally reflected in the releases on his labels. His seminal Jimpster LP Messages From The Hub (1997), as well as his early dance floor orientated Audiomontage 12”s really helped establish Jamie as an artist of some merit quickly becoming highly demanded as a remixer (over 85 at the last count!) and coproducer on a wide range of underground projects. His third Jimpster LP Amour was released 5 years ago on Freerange to excellent critical acclaim and appeared in numerous published Top 20 LP's of the year charts. In more recent years he has released his first original track for another label, choosing Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly for Square Up which went on to become a big underground house track of the year. His most recent single releases for Freerange include Alsace & Lorraine and These Times ft Jinadu, another deep house anthem and a classic in the making, which received support from many of the best house DJ’s out there, going on to be remixed by Dixon and Manuel Tur to serious effect. Recent artists to get the Jimpster midas touch in the form of a remix include Freak Seven, Josh Wink, Photon Inc, Osunlade, Bob Marley, Joris Voorn, Seal, Marc Romboy, Solomun and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. Over the past 7 or 8 years Jamie has built up a reputation as a highly regarded DJ in the UK and around the world, having played over 100 gigs last year alone. With an emphasis on the deeper end of electronic house, but not afraid to stray from the path, he retains an old school approach that has seen him booked for gigs as diverse as Fabric (London), Panarama Bar and Watergate (Berlin), Cielo (NYC), Warehouse 702 (Tokyo), Zoo Project (Ibiza), D-Edge (Sao Paulo), GOA @ Fabrik (Madrid). Last year he won the coveted Danish Deejay Award for Best international DJ set at afterhours club Dunkel as well as winning the Beatport Deep House Producer and Best Deep House Remix of the year in 2010.

By June 2013 Jimpster will cover all of the Worlds continents with gigs/bookings, averaging on 2 different countries per week. A clear indicator Jimpster is simply one of the most in-demand DJ’s in the world and a true leader of deep house music.

Joining Jimpster as our second headliner, we are pleased to welcome back to Delve Deeper;

TOMSON

[we_ctrl/Development Music]

Known predominantly for his long standing tenure as promoter, resident and label owner for the renowned Development collective in Manchester UK, Tom Lynch aka Tomson has crammed a lot into his 29 years to date. Having played alongside luminaries such as Masters at Work, Ron Trent, Lil’Louis, Danny Krivit, Osunlade, Dixon, Larry Heard and many others, Tom has also consistently helped spread the Development Music sound with regular appearances around the UK's best underground party spots as well as tours to foreign shores with gigs in Ibiza, Croatia, South Africa and more. As a solo artist and alongside regular partner in crime Benedict, Tomson has remixed for artists such as Atjazz, Paris Brightledge, Ronnie Ron, Flowriders and Tone Control. A slew of original productions have followed with a debut single featuring the stunning vocals of Paul Randolph on Deepermotions Music, backed up by the much lauded 'Rainy Things' EP on London's world-renowned Freerange Records. The latter received support and plays from artists ranging from Josh Wink and Laurent Garnier to Deetron and Paul Woolford, who featured the track Telepathy Dub on his Radio 1 Essential Mix. Taking his influences in equal measure from soul and hip hop as deep house and techno, Tomson's music comfortably morphs together inspirations old and new. This forward thinking sound has found it's way onto labels such as Freerange, Huddtraxx, Tone Control, Deepermotions, NYSoul, Development Music, Pep Sounds, Kolour, Smooth Agent and Morris Audio. Tomson has also launched his we_ctrl label which has already made a huge impact globally with its consistently high quality releases.

Finalising the line up alongside the Delve Deeper promoter/residents Liam & Jenny are some of Sheffield’s most in-demand, the De:Bug DJ’s and Party for the People in house spinner, Chid Iheanacho.

Ticket prices vary with limited £6 early bird (Skiddle), £8 advance (Party for the People/Skiddle and Resident Advisor) and £10 on the door available.
