Personal space invasion .. are there rules?

Recommended Posts

it's proxemics a social science pioneered by a genius called Edward T. Hall. Different individuals need varying amounts of personal space, it varies between individuals but also veyr interestingly, between nationalities. Americans are supposed to be those who need the most personal space and Arabs the least. You can see this if you travel abroard and observe people standing in lines, Americans stand further apart than say Filipinos do. But when Filipinos emigrate to the United States, they gradually imitate the norm without really thinking about it and start to stand further apart than they did at home. Some cultures are also more tactile than others and something that would be seen as an invasion of personal space in one place would not be seen as anything other than a warm gesture in another. However this guy just sounds like a weirdo.
