Chip Van In Southey Green

Can anyone remember the chip van that used to park near the magnet,? Southey green year,s ago, talking about twenty year,s ago?

Remember it well,the fishcakes were potatoe and fish mashed,not yorkshire as we know it,I think they also had a shop at the bottom of Newman in Wincobank.

i remember that van, it belonged to a chap called hanson, his son (him who is always smiling) runs the chippy at the bottom of southey hill, i think the van sold its last fish supper in 1976 :)

I remember a bloke called Don who sold pie and peas /whelks/hotdogs etc from a small van outside the magnet in 66 we had motorbikes then and hung round the magnet on a friday night we'd come back from town ****** up and i'd buy a hotdog and whelks 4 mi supper buy the time I'd got home I'd spewed em back/greeeeaaaat times.

There used to converted static caravan chippy that used to park outside the High rise flats at stannington 20+ years ago.
