What rates can I expect from the insurance?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I know that this is a very general topic but can you tell me what can I expect from the car insurance?

I'll be turning on July 25yo and thinking about a BMW E46 te 318 or 320 model.

I know that the easiest way to find out is to call the insurance company but will they give me the information for that without having a car ?

If you could also tell me what companies are good and cheap to insure a car and a sport motorbike.

Thanks.

Greets

Look on autotrader for a car with picture so you can see the registration. Enter the reg and your details in one of the many compassion sites and see what comes back. You don't need to own the car.

I use Chris Knott, have for years, thye have always been great on price and service. I was looking at getting a 630i tho and unusually I was getting a better price from compare the market than Chris Knott though, so may be they are not so good with BMW's.

I live in S9.

I've been searching at comparethemarket and the prices are shocking.

I have (almost) 7years a full driving licence and no accidents and the results for the 320 2002 are something around 2400pounds, for a motorbike R1 2007 it's 2400 also.

Is that possible that I'll have such big rates? It's insane !

Maybe I do something wrong...

The prices are shocking but probably accurate. Motorbikes get stolen and people crash BMW's because they are rear wheel drive (apparently)

And you live in a city.

Try Chris Knott, and if they give you a good deal PM me and I will give you my details as I would get 10quid for recommending you!

S9 will be a high risk area.

There are websites to find out.

You are also looking at high group cars as well.

Do you have any NCB?

Can you put any named drivers on who are older/less risk?

I don't know exactlly what's a NCB, but if it's about disscounts of nonaccident driving than I droved over 500.000km over the last 6years back in Poland without any accidents and my employer can give me a certificat(?) or something like this that it's true, but I don't know if it will be honorable here in UK.

It don't have to be a BMW was thinking maybe about a Civic or a Vauxhall or Mondeo.

Unfortunatelly I'm here only with my GF, so no one will be willing to be added to my insurance I guess.

So though luck I guess.

It's just to damn expencive to have a car/motorcycle in here! hehe :)

NCB is No Claims Bonus so number of years of accident free driving but I would have thought your trouble free driving record in Poland will not count in the UK but maybe there's a insurance company specialising in migrants.

May be worth a search.

Do you have a UK licence?

Does your GF drive? If so it may lower the price if you have her as a named driver.

You can also search for lower group cars which will be small engined hatchbacks etc..

Just be thankful you're not 18!
