Getting into teaching?

Does anyone have any advice as to how to get into teaching?

I have worked in construction for 14 years and want to come out of it and would love to be a primary school teacher.

I have a degree but its construction related.

I also have a young family now so would ideally like an option where you are paid while you train (I understand this might not be a lot but I can't go down the full time Uni route).

Anybody with any experience of this?

Thanks

I have a relative who is doing the School First programme for primary school teaching. I believe you need a 2:1 and relevant teaching experience, and for the training period it only pays about 15k a year so probably not feasible for everyone.

Don't think part time is an option, you would need to do some sort of PGCE this could be one or two years, fees could be waived if you are wanting to teach certain subjects e.g maths, science, languages, and some students can get a bursary you really need to contact both unis and explore your options.
