CorkerSWFC
The weather is taking the micky now, not only have we got to wait for the snow to melt, when it does it's going to water log all of the pitches
medusa
You're doing better than a lot of people. My niece and nephew's football pitch is currently under 8 feet of snow and is a very low priority behind clearing all of the roads with a JCB (because the snow ploughs can't move that much snow) and one of the places that they're dumping the snow that they're moving is on the football pitch. With a bit of luck ours will be melted in a couple of weeks and it will just be a bit muddy- theirs will take a hell of a lot longer.

You would think they would get a truck and dump it in some derelict place its not going to hurt anything is it really.
medusa
You would think they would get a truck and dump it in some derelict place its not going to hurt anything is it really. The problem is that when everywhere is covered to that height then there's really nowhere suitable to dump it apart from close to the road, as you could only dump it out of the way if you dug out a path to get there- and where would you put the snow from the path that you've just dug? Pink2Bubble
Well it wont be this weekend, had to call our game off. Went to clear the snow and revealed far too much standing water. Shame really as a few areas were in good condition but council will never clear a football pitch, heavy vehicles will ruin it with tracks and field allows the snow to head straight into the mud. Four of us tried to shovel it off the pitch but far too wet underneath it to warrant doing the rest of it. Be same in many places this weekend
