rachybobbins Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 Hi everyone My grandad Douglas Holmes sadly passed away on 18/3/2013, he was a Royal Marine during ww2 and survived the sinking of HMS Penelope when she was sunk 18/2/1944 of Anzio. He also served on HMS Spartan and HMS Ajax. He married my Grandma in 1946, who was from Little London, later they moved to Birley My Grandma was Mary Cutts daughter of Clara and Jim Cutts also of Little London I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers him either from his Marine service or from being a born and bred Sheffielder Thanks Rachael ---------- Post added 29-03-2013 at 13:22 ---------- Hi TicTac Apologies but I can't reply, I need to have more postings.
