Halibut
My reasons are based on fact and not emotion and therefore are not rubbish. What new name would you give to a loving union between a proud same sex couple to celebrate the change in legislation ? (Don't say marriage as I have explained in a sensible way why I don't think this is appropriate) Marriage obviously. Your reasons for finding it inappropriate are utterly worthless. El Cid
(Don't say marriage as I have explained in a sensible way why I don't think this is appropriate) You are more likely to get slapped by a big wet fish, than a sensible answer
harvey19
Equality is good. You might realise that one day. Everyone agrees but sometimes it is a case of equal but different. As in a man and woman are equal but different.
Halibut
Just heard on the radio that France has just had their first gay marriage. Excellent!
SnailyBoy
I have explained the reason on numerous occasions. I think you need to read and try to understand my reasons instead of automatically ignoring them. "I am not against same sex couples joining in a union based on love and having the same rights as a different sex couple" Did you just say it for appearances sake? You either think equal rights are equal rights, or you think equal rights means equal to a certain degree.
El Cid
As in a man and woman are equal but different. Your wife wouldnt agree
harvey19
Marriage obviously. Your reasons for finding it inappropriate are utterly worthless. I am trying to debate sensibly and would hope others have an open mind but sadly you are not open to views which differ from your own and you do not explain your reasons for rejecting them. El Cid
"I am not against same sex couples joining in a union based on love and having the same rights as a different sex couple" But that does not include having children?
SnailyBoy
Its you and snailboy that are so hellbent on things being equal. That's meant to be a criticism?
Cyclone
Marriage was once important, partly because of the tax breaks, it would be good if David Cameron brought that back, because children are the most important factor in marriage. That's a personal opinion of yours, didn't you say a few posts previously that we should only be considering facts?
