Had he stayed as Labour leader I think they would have done better in the 2010 election than they did with Brown as leader. Blair really was a good candidate, even after people had got a bit sick of him compared to before. Better than Brown for sure. Better than any of the front bench except perhaps John Reid, who had things been different, might have been a good candidate for them to choose, able to connect with the public. I think Blair would also have certainly done better than Thatcher would have done had she remained Tory leader and stood for a fourth time in 1992. By 1990 she had become an electoral liability, which Blair never was.

Tradescanthia
As a socialist, I didn't like Blair much. He was a Champagne Socialist, holidaying with the King of Spain etc. [No Benidorm for him !!!!!]. But, for all his faults he was better than this evil Tory shower. I don't think Karl or Che or even Joe would deem to stay in Benny and most socialists would choose Catalonia or Cuba or even Cornwall.

Short memories on here, don't forget the note left by NEW LIEbour, no brass left, or words to that effect. Had Bliar stayed on we would now be a bankrupt Country, in a worse condition than we are now. As for Gormless Gordon, the mind boggles as to what would have been the effect of him still in power. Vote UKIP you know it makes sense. Angel.
I1L2T3
I think this is true. With Blair at the helm it would have been a lot closer, maybe even neck and neck. But another Blairite government? Stuff that. No thanks.
SqueakyPete
May have been closer, but I don't think close enough for a win. I think TB's foreign policies were his number one priority. And the fact he told one almighty lie wouldn't have made him popular,or the amount of debt he helped spiral this country into.He actually made the Conservatives look like the answer lol,and that alone takes some doing. Vague_Boy
Blair really was a good candidate I see you're happy to have a war criminal/corporate whore in place, just as long as he brings in the votes. And that makes you better than the Tories.... how?

You couldn't make up some of the ****e you read on here.
