AF Removals
Why are standard car jacks so rubbishly made. Realy angry now after the car fell off twice leaving a big dent in the sill. Not happy! Not a show car no more
ronthenekred
Handbrake on? Car level? Slight incline and all sorts of probs arise. I can imagine your frustration though.
AF Removals
Yes & in gear with brick under front wheel then it slipped sideways making the jack flip up into the sill.
Guest
They're made to a cost unfortunately. I always jack it up slowly to make sure it's stable and stick an axle stand under there. Doing anything under the car with just a jack is asking for trouble.

AF Removals
I use a proper jack & axel stands when doing any work but I didnt have any today and was just simply to remove wheel spacers. It's not a new car only a 2003 golf but it was mint for shows.

muddywolf
I have had my standard jack fail before (the handle twisted off!). I do cringe when I see people shuffling under their cars when they are on the standard jacks for any kind of work.

Not a show car no more Why didn't you put the wheels under the sills of the car, if it had fell on those it would have been less damage/cheaper for you.
