Allen
apparently Merthyr is a run down coal mining town I can't comment on the under age pregnancy figures...... But to put the record straight, don't believe everything you read in the papers. Merthyr is a vibrant town with both indoor and outdoor markets, large retail shops and a welcoming feeling. It's a smaller version of what Sheffield used to be. What it doesn't have is Meadowhell , and that reflects in the vibrant town centre. Yes, it's an ex mining town, as are many villages in the Welsh valleys. That is also true of many communities surrounding Sheffield.
Longcol
According to The Sunday People today Merthyr Tydfil had the highest rate of under 16's having children Does this include sheep?
Mister M
Labour constituencies are the best places to get laid? Very possibly. Although I do remember John Major's ill fated 'back to basics' campaign, which apart from exposing a number of serial tory shaggers who enjoyed a bit of single mother bashing on the side, was a dismal failure.
