RIP Maggie Thatcher..

Recommended Posts

Is is always a great shame when somebody passes away, especially for the deceased family, but the sad fact is that this lady did privatise the nations utility companies, which now means the private owners only care about making money for themselves and their shareholders. She was also responsible for selling off council homes, properties that were built so the working classes could have somewhere to live, and now there arent enough, and people cannot get larger houses for their growing families. There is more. A lot more. Yes, I say again that its a shame for the families loss, but this lady cannot be forgotten for what she did to this country. R.I.P Iron Lady, but your actions are still being felt today.

The alternative was that you continued to live in a country with uncompetitive industries run by trade unions as you continued in your decent to oblivion.

Power cuts, the Winter of Discontent, British Leyland, British Steel and British Rail were an advert to the world of what was no longer good about Britain.

Thatcher's policies reversed the trend and brought investment from the likes of Honda, Toyota, and Datsun. Without them you wouldn't have a motor industry any more.

You have lost a great leader and a great statesman.

Probably safest to speak for oneself on this, rather than tell other people what they have lost?

I don't really have any strong feelings about her death TBH, she was functionally dead a while ago. Another old lady dies of a stroke :(

I was always told that if you cannot say anything good about someone then don't say anything. In that case I cannot say anything about that woman.

I do sympathise for her family however, I know how hard it is to lose your parents.

I would like to know not only how much her extravegant funeral is going to cost but who will be paying for it?

OK, I know the last point it will be us, the poor old taxpayer again. Surely if the government want a big funeral then the government (conservative party) should pay for it? After all the cabinet is rolling in it and they spent enough time fawning after her.

The mods say I am not allowed to put my true feelings so I think that sums it all up

You can put your true feelings as long as you can express them within the rules of the forum, we don't mind.

Also there is a dedicated thread for discussing her policies and legacy

Well done for once again trotting out the well worn mantra dreamed up by the new breed of marketing men and propagandists who reshaped the face of British politics at Conservative Party HQ 30 years ago. Joseph Gobbels would be proud that his lessons have been learned so well and carried forward into a brown new era of disgusting hypocrisy, lies and greed.

If you ever have any original thoughts on the matter, let us know.
