I like Monet, but I also really like local artists like Paul Wood, from whom I have 8 originals. I also like the botanical illustrations and paintings done by the Irish artist Graine Cuffe, and the very simple semi-abstract work done by Tobias Trenwith.

I tend to like Impressionist painters - in particular van Gogh, Monet and Manet - and the pre-Raphaelite-type artists, such as Frederic Leighton and John William Waterhouse.

 

But I also like some of the older portrait painters like Velasquez and Fragonard.

 

And I love images in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles.

 

And, coming more up to date, I find the work of the American artist Edward Hopper fascinating.
