Hillpig Posted April 10, 2013 Share Posted April 10, 2013 I am, on balance, a believer that a democratic state should have the power to inflict the death penalty. Also that at times (Nuremberg Trials) the wider international community via properly constituted tribunals, should also have this power. In this case I feel the death penalty inappropriate, for purely pragmatic reasons the guilty should remain in custody, and be subject of rigorous ingoing interrogation until such time as every bit of information that is of use to the authorities is extracted from them. Then they should be placed in a situation where they have no interaction with others to whom they can spread thier malign and viscious creed. Solitary, for life.
