SpikeMac
If they were both on the BBC for a discussion, it was very poor. It was only poor because he was either badly briefed, or plain reluctant to answer questions.
mikem8634
I dont like some forms of capitalism, but I think if moderated, it could be the best form of democracy. The principle of nationalism seems to have left our good nation, it now seems that anyone with pride in their own country is deemed an extremist, or far right. Pride and fascism are not the same thing.
El Cid
It was only poor because he was either badly briefed, or plain reluctant to answer questions. Paxo didnt like the answers that he gave, so he let Hodge go on and on.
Obelix
Fascism in it's purest form, ie that originally in Italy is a nationalist based ideology. It doesnt make any differention to "race" as in black, white yellow, etc. it just cares about your nation. I'm not sure that is much better really, but you can be fascist without being racist. It's still not a very pleasant viewpoint though.
Mister M
If you think that living in a bigoted police state with no checks and balances is no big deal then fascism will probably appeal to you. Next question: Was Josef Fritzl really a bad parent, or just misunderstood?

Socialist Workers and their ilk are patriots too. They just want Britain to be communist.
SpikeMac
Paxo didnt like the answers that he gave, so he let Hodge go on and on. You must have been watching on Freeview. I was watching via my Sky dish. I clearly saw a badly briefed fascist unable to handle a fairly predictable line of questioning. Paxo doesn't let anyone else do his dirty work. Brons was simply out of his depth.
Electerrific
The morons claiming to be 'far right' on history forums can't even get Alfred the Great's reign correct! Nick moron Griffin couldn't even get the Union Flag the right way up, and his laughable attempt to use the Spitfire (that shot down his sickening nazi heroes) backfired- the serial number on the one depicted was flown by a Pole (slav)! Lol Bunch of illiterate and historically sterile hypocrites and idiots.

It needs countering robustly. Mercifully, I believe that we have a mature enough democracy and three strong enough parties to do just that. Not sure if capitalism and democracy are the same or can be equated, but 2 prominent members of UKIP recently said that the rich should have more votes than poor people, and that people who don't pay tax should not be allowed to vote. I think they were similarly confused.
