Fascism, is it really that bad

Recommended Posts

A little less capitalism would suit me fine.

A little less corporatism, don't you mean? Capitalism is a broad idea in theory. At the extremes, you can have capitalism that favours a few elite interests (the type you find in countries with large states) or capitalism whereby state privilege/intervention is stripped back and businesses are free to compete based on their ability to produce and co-operate rather than exploit privilege.

The only way to judge any system of government is by seeing the effect it has on the majority of the population living under that system.

Whilst Fascism & Communism are supposed to be polar opposites the results as far as the ordinary person is concerned are virtually identical.

Both systems wish the State to know everything & control everything. The ordinary citizen ends up being terrified of the knock on the door in the middle of the night & being 'disappeared' into the States tender care.

Generally speaking though, the Fascists have nicer uniforms.

Hi

I understand that Sunderland have got a Fascist manager. It was all hyped up by the press, Milliband resigned, but wasnt he going to the USA anyway?

Andrew Brons MEP for the English Democrats was on Newsnight, it wasnt a sensible discussion, just some Labour MP calling him a far right MP. Meaning the BNP, who he used to be involved with. But the BNP tend to steal Labour seats, not Conservatives seats, so doesnt that mean that Andrew Brons is on the left?

And then we have people attacking UKIP, the main parties just want to call everyone except themselves extremists. I thought that we had a free press?

Your thread title is kind of amusing. What next?

'Paedophilia, not as bad as it's made out to be?'

or perhaps 'Rape, not much to fret about really?'

Perhaps you can start your own, interesting thread? I enjoy discussing politics, what is your interest?

I'm interested in opposing fascism in all forms. Am I to infer from your post that you think fascism is a good thing?

Brons has never been in the English Democrats. He now represents the British Democratic Party having been elected as a BNP candidate. He has previously also been in the NF, National Socialist Movement and an earlier BNP.

Just like the Sunderland football manager, it seems to mean different things to different people. Untill it became a national news item it hardly got in the news.
